GBOX makes UHD link up12 February 2015
The new GBOX Series of throw-down box transmitters and receivers for uncompressed video, audio and data transmission over fibre, CatX and IP are compatible with Opticomm-Emcore’s Genesis matrix switch for multipoint applications.
GBOX is suitable for stand-alone, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint applications when connected through Genesis XD.
It also supports HDMI 1.4b with HDCP, VGA and Component video, stereo analogue audio, bidirectional RS-232, 10/100 Ethernet, IR and CEC over fibre and CatX/HDBaseT. Remote keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) applications are also supported along with optional USB 2.0 for integrated hard drives and other USB devices. It has 10.3Gbps optics support, for multimode fibre up to 300m or single-mode fibre up to 10km.
The first of the GBOX series, the GBX-F-HDMI-VGA, is a single fibre extender that supports two auto-detecting video interfaces: HDMI 1.4b for digital video sources with Audio Return Channel, Ethernet and CEC, as well as VGA and component video for legacy analogue sources.
