Finite Solutions creates show home for automation systems

What’s said to be the UK’s most technologically advanced show home has been launched in Leeds to allow architects to road test digital systems and play with high-tech kit prior to specification.

The  £1 million show house features not only the very latest gadgets currently on the market, but also incorporates the world’s finest audio, cinema, lighting, security, IT and telecoms systems. The technology allows an iPad or iPhone to operate lighting, electric blinds, gate entry, CCTV, security alarms and heating. The property even has a perimeter security barrier heat detection system.

Technology from the likes of Bower & Wilkins, Sonos, Crestron and Lutron is seamlessly combined with beautiful furniture and art to stunning effect, designed to stimulate imagination for anyone that visits.

The Manor House in Yeadon is an historic property purchased and renovated by home technology specialist Finite Solutions so that it could demonstrate what is possible with home automation and how it can integrate with everyday life.  The variety of technologies installed allows the company to demonstrate systems from £5,000 to £250,000 upwards.

Features include a fully fitted-out basement cinema room complete with surround sound and tiered seating and a number of hidden TV screens that magically appear from behind panel walls and picture frames.  Whole house lighting is also 100% LED using very low energy.

Simon Mathieson, director at Finite Solutions, said: “Those working at the prime end of the residential market know how important integrated technology has become for today’s clients.  Indeed the UK residential custom home installation sector is now estimated to be worth around £1.07 billion according to CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association).

“We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of cutting edge technology and our clients depend on us to advise them about advances that can help to future-proof their investment. It helps significantly if we can showcase the technology in operation and so we have invested heavily to complete our show house to the highest specification.

“The historic nature of the house also helps to demonstrate how new technology can be integrated into older properties that may present restrictions and aesthetic challenges. Our ‘smart home’ remains true to its elegant heritage but delivers against futuristic requirements.”
