EMP Tek’s Impression Series reaches the UK

The Utah-based manufacturer’s Impression Series home cinema loudspeaker range is distributed exclusively in the UK by Aldous Systems (Europe).

The product series is available in both 5.1 and 7.1 configurations, with either bookshelf or tower speakers as front-left and front-right channels.

The 5.1 bookshelf Impression system (IMP-5.1-1) comprises four E5Bi bookshelf speakers – for front and rear channels, one E5Ci centre and an ES10i powered subwoofer. The IMP-5.1-1 retails at around £1,500. The 7.1 bookshelf system (IMP-7.1-1) includes a further two E5Bi bookshelf speakers, and retails at approximately £1,900.

EMP Tek’s 5.1 tower Impression system (IMP-5.1-2) comprises 2 x E5Bi for rear channels, an E5Ci centre and an ES10i sub, plus two E5Ti towers for stereo L/R, for a total cost of approximately £1,900. The 7.1 tower array (IMP-7-1-2) includes an additional 2 x E5Bi and costs around £2,250.

Individual range specs include the E5Ti tower with three 6.5” poly-matrix woofers, two 5.25” aluminised poly-matrix mid-range drivers with fixed phase plugs, and a 1” poly-silk soft dome tweeter. Dual 5.25” midranges are aligned in a mid-tweeter-mid configuration, resulting in a dynamic sound with controlled dispersion. Max power output is 150 Watts, with impedance at 6 Ohms and frequency response of 40Hz – 20kHz (3dB).

All speakers are available in high-gloss red burl or high-gloss black ash. A larger tower, the E55Ti, is also available in the Impression range, but not as part of a complete system. Boasting the same woofer and tweeter as its sibling, this larger product offer max power of 200 Watts, impedance at 6 Ohms, and frequency response of 50Hz – 20kHz.

Jason Aldous of Aldous Systems (Europe) commented: “We’re thrilled to be distributing this exciting range of loudspeakers. The EMP Tek range is an outstanding collection of loudspeakers, either as a main system at the heart of a home cinema installation, or a secondary AV or hi-fi set-up.”
