ebode LightSpeakers combine light and music23 June 2010
ebode sees the magic of music blending with LED lighting technology to bring you an audio system hidden within a light fixture.
BMB Electronics, distributors of custom installation, audio visual, building automation and lighting solutions, used last week’s Home Technology Event at London’s ExCel to announce the arrival in Europe of the ebode LightSpeaker.
ebode LightSpeaker combines low consumption LED lighting with wireless sound in one easy ‘plug and play’ system. Tucked away in any standard E27 fitting large enough to accommodate it, which could include pendants, lamps or recessed lighting, ebode LightSpeaker can bring sound and light to every room in the home.
The system can be installed easily, and without any expensive and complicated wiring, in a few minutes. Up to two music sources, an iPod and a radio for example, can be connected to the transmitter in the base station, which wirelessly sends the sound to the LightSpeakers which are screwed into a standard E27 socket to receive their power. The wireless transmitter base station or the supplied remote control allows you to control the source, music and lighting levels from anywhere in the home, and up to four pairs of LightSpeakers can be ‘paired’ to one base station.
The ebode LightSpeaker’s dimmable LED produces 40,000 hours of light. Under typical conditions the LED Light module will only need changing roughly every 15 years. It uses just 10 watts of power to produce light that’s equivalent to a 65 watt incandescent bulb.
