Dynacord solution for major new amphitheatre14 October 2011
Sound specialist Tommex recently selected a Dynacord-based sound reinforcement solution for installation at a new amphitheatre located in Jozef Pilsudski Park, Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski.
The facility is the latest addition to one of the most popular recreational areas in Poland’s Kamienna river basin. The venue is to be used for a wide range of theatrical productions and live concerts, necessitating the specification of a sound system that is reliable and versatile.
The planning and implementation of the audio system was entrusted to two Polish companies: Dynacord distributor Tommex and Anna-Bud, which undertook the installation. The Dynacord solution resulting from their deliberations is based around the compact Cobra-4 line array and features eight Cobra PWH planar waveguide bass horns, six Cobra-4 Tops and four VariLine 262 cabinets to provide front-fill. Two 10U racks – comprising in each case two H5000 power amplifiers, an ICP-88 and an AC 232 connection panel – supplying power and control. To ensure optimum foldback quality, the installation also includes eight CXM 15 monitors, with the power supplied by a 14U rack made up of four H2500 power amplifiers, two ICP-44 units and one AC 232 connector panel.
The inclusion of RCM-26 modules on all the amplifiers allows every signal to be the subject of remote control and supervision via IRIS-Net.
Tommex technical engineer Piotr Wosiek commented: “Systems from DYNACORD offer fantastic sound quality even at high sound pressure levels as well as easy handling, flexibility and user-friendliness.”
