dnp Denmark to debut new high contrast screen4 December 2012
The new Supernova Blade, an ultra-thin frameless version of the Supernova Screen from dnp Denmark, is making its European debut at ISE 2013.
Meeting what the company says are modern demands for wider, flatter screens, the dnp Supernova Blade is only 3mm thick and available in 100in, 110in and 120in sizes (in 16:9 aspect ratio). However, according to dnp, it still contains all the performance characteristics typical of a Supernova Screen.
A built-in optical filter in the screen’s material absorbs ambient light and boosts image contrast, delivering, up to seven times higher contrast than conventional front projection screens. These light-absorbing capabilities are said to eliminate the need for a dedicated darkened room, making it suitable for use in brightly lit surroundings such as meeting rooms and point of sales situations, as well as home theatre.
The new screen, which uses ISF-certified Supernova 08-85 screen material, can be installed in two ways: either wall-mounted or suspended from the ceiling. In retail situations, where every square metre counts, dnp says that the new slim-line screen also helps save space.
