d&b sound system installed at popular Singapore pub

test 27 August 2007

“The pub chose to use d&b equipment because they wanted a system that could provide high quality sound and at the same time allow comfortable conversation to take place,” commented Sebastian Song, d&b’s Asia representative. “From that point of view, the loudspeaker system has been a great success.”

Set in a converted 1910 Peranakan shop (Peranakan being a term used for descendants of the very early Chinese immigrants to the Nusantara region of Malaya, the archipelago of modern-day Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore), the bar boasts over 50 varieties of local and imported beers, and is said to be popular with both locals and expatriates. It is even possible to obtain a ‘Master of Beer Addiction’ (MBA) certificate by drinking every variety of beer stocked in a specified time.

Speaking to II, Song added: “While I am not interested in applying for an MBA, it is a great place to visit. The sound is great but still allows for good conversation.”
