Dataton media server on the move

Swedish show control developer and manufacturer Dataton has launched WatchPax 4, a portable addition to its range of media servers.

WatchPax 4 is a dedicated server that is optimised for playback of multi-display shows created in Dataton’s WatchOut production and playback software.

With an A4-sized footprint paired with four outputs, WatchPax 4 is suited to a range of applications, including signage, live events and fixed installations, the company claims. Units can be placed close to display sources – avoiding long and expensive video cable runs – stacked, or mounted in a standard 19in rack for extra flexibility.

The server is in action at the Dataton stand in Hall 12, powering a central 8K videowall and projection-mapping demonstration.

Miroslav Andel, chief software developer, Dataton, said: “WatchPax 4 is plug-and-play, which significantly reduces installation time on-site, and ensures you always get the best performance from the hardware. Each unit has a Dataton WatchOut licence pre-installed and four video outputs, which makes it a very cost-effective solution for integrators and producers.”

Stand: 12-E70
