Dalcans Design unveils first collection22 September 2010
The new range of residential A/V devices is said to combine cutting-edge design and state-of-the-art technology.
At the heart of the three-product range is the concept of combining a mirror TV with hi-fidelity speakers and an integrated fragrance diffuser. By emphasising the image and its relationship with interior design, says Dalcans, “technique has been fully dematerialised”.
The first of the products, Soul of Pop, is a multi-functional A/V device incorporating a single block of a special recycle resin, which is wall-mounted via a strong central bracket. Meanwhile, the paint used on the product originates in the aviation sector. Once switched-off, the TV screen becomes a mirror. Featuring dimensions of 3210 (L) x 1785 (H) x 400 (D) mm and a 42” full HD LED mirror screen, Soul of Pop is available in two versions: Hi-Fi, with Exposure amplifier (2 x 110W) and Bluetooth iPod dock; and Home Automated, with Crestron remote control, amplifiers (8 x 100W) and iPod dock. Both versions feature a fragrance diffuser and Odyssée Acoustic speakers (2 x 200W), along with Pro Kindermann sockets for HDMI (x4), mini-jack stereo + VGA, YUV, RCA A/V, USB and network connectivity (Hub, Ethernet, Wifi).
The other products in the collection are Lolly Pop – a smaller, simplified version of Soul of Pop available in three versions – and Cube, which integrates hi-fi speakers and a 32” Full HD TV screen behind a mirror glass. Also available in three versions (classic screen integration, hi-fi, home automated), Cube can be wall-mounted or situated on a stainless steel stand.
Dalcans Design will exhibit its new collection later this week at 100% Design, a contemporary interior design exhibition taking place at London’s Earls Court from 23-26 September.
Raphaël Benbassa, executive manager at Dalcans, told IE Residential: “Dalcans Design worked on this new concept for two years; that’s more than a new product, but a real new concept. It’s not just watching TV, but live TV. For the European residential market, Dalcans is actually looking for a unique distributor for each country; this distributor should be dedicated [to] high-end residential or hospitality and should have a good network with interior designers. The distributor is much more than just a distributor; [it’s] a real partner who believes in this new concept.”
