Crestron partners with Maverick for first distribution deal

Crestron and Maverick have announced a new partnership to distribute Crestron SR throughout Europe – the first time Crestron has used a distribution selling model.

Designed in partnership with Microsoft, the Crestron SR is a professional solution built for Skype for Business, which brings a simple to use, HD audiovisual experience to meeting rooms and can be easily deployed and managed on the network. The partnership reflects the hybrid nature of the product with Crestron partners, the pro AV channel and IT partners all buying through the distribution channel, the first time Crestron has gone down this route to market.

As the home for Skype For Business systems in Europe, with a suite of complementary products, Maverick’s collaboration team will spearhead the introduction of the product to the channel through its 19 countries.

Ted Colton, VP of unified communication strategies at Crestron, explained: “Working with Maverick on the distribution of our Skype Room System presents a fantastic opportunity for Crestron to expand rapidly to meet this product’s potential across Europe. Their knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem and the AV industry will be perfect to ensure this product receives the right support.”

Crestron SR has been engineered from the ground up to easily integrate with a large range of meeting rooms; from small and midsize spaces to larger conference rooms. It’s possible to easily join meetings, make calls and instantly share content in room and remotely.

Some of its key features include a touch controller, which manages the Skype Meeting; HDMI inputs and outputs; six USB ports to connect audio devices and a port to add an occupancy sensor for automation and room usage reporting.

Jon Sidwick, VP Maverick Europe commented: “Crestron is a flagship AV brand, bringing to market a cutting edge product which will work brilliantly for corporate businesses already working with the Crestron or Microsoft ecosystem. The product is walk up and use and its connectivity will make it a presentation tool for larger meetings. We see huge opportunities for integrators merging AV and IT products, opening new opportunities for further control systems and automation.”
