CPL doubles space in warehouse expansion9 May 2011
UK AV rental specialist Central Presentations Ltd. (CPL) has expanded its warehouse space near Birmingham by taking over a new unit next door to the existing facility and offices.
According to the company, more capacity has been needed for some time – particularly due to recent investments in the latest technology such as HD cameras, projectors and PPUs as well as an ever-increasing stock of day-to-day equipment like microphones, plasma screens and speakers.
The 12,000 square feet of space now available at the Kenilworth site provides not only needed storage capacity but also allows CPL to substantially increase its dedicated prep and returns areas. There will also be a larger ‘clean’ climate-controlled servicing area for sensitive equipment like projectors, and a new demo room is planned in the near future.
An extra loading bay will further accelerate the turnaround for trucks and enhance transport logistics during peak times.
The acquisition means that CPL can remain in its ideal location with easy access to London, Birmingham and the rest of the country, and in close proximity to Birmingham International (the National Exhibition Centre) which is a source of constant activity.
"We seized the opportunity to expand without the disruption of moving, which was another option as we had definitely outgrown the original building,” said CPL’s MD Matthew Boyse. “We are gearing up for a busy summer so it’s really an opportune time.”
CPL says that it has enjoyed a great start to 2011, servicing numerous roadshows, corporate events, product launches and presentations, and confirming several bookings already for the summer and festival seasons.
