The newly-developed iPhone/iPad app for Cytech Europe’s Comfort Intelligent Home System has been shortlisted for installation on the BRE Innovation Park, Watford, prior to Ecobuild next March.

Comfort’s app will be displayed and demonstrated along with the other shortlisted contenders on 4 and 5 October, 2011, during an INSITE11 Rethink Refurbishment event at BRE. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite from the shortlist on show to choose the winning app.

The brief to entrants provided by the three sponsors – The Construction Products Association, BRE and the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBEKTN) – was for an app that brings together all aspects of home automation control together “as a single control system with a user-friendly interface… Easy to use, affordable and [able to] integrate all the systems in the home.”

L Y Chiu, director of Cytech Europe, commented: “We are delighted that our iPhone App has been recognised by the expert panel for its capacity to easily control our Comfort system of home automation.”
