Chief launches interactive mounts at ISE27 January 2011
ISE will see the global launch of a major update to Chief’s short-throw projector mount line. Using eBeam technology from Luidia, these mounts create a fully featured, interactive unit that enables users to annotate, save and share items projected onto a virtual whiteboard.
“This is an amazing product for classrooms and corporate environments since it eliminates the need for specialised interactive whiteboards. Any projectable surface can become interactive with this product,” said Derek Derks, Chief product manager.
Using the lightweight interactive stylus provided, which Chief says has ‘exceptional rendering capabilities’, teachers and presenters can interact dynamically with any projected content, including PowerPoint presentations and web pages and more. Access to a comprehensive library of web resources is available to assist in the planning, preparation and development of content.
Several installer-inspired features have been provided for ease of installation, including micro adjustment for height and levelling (claimed as an industry first), a built-in telescoping extension of up to 1.67m to help achieve precise image alignment, lateral shift capability and built-in cable management.
Chief Interactive Mounts will work with standard projectors and both Windows and Mac computers. As well as being built into Chief’s short-throw projector mount line, eBeam technology can be retrofitted into existing Chief installations with an interactive cover accessory.
