Improved connectivity, high brightness and flexible installation capabilities are the key features of five new projectors in Canon Europe’s LV range, which are designed for a wide range of applications, particularly within business and education. One of the new models, the LX-MU700 (pictured), is Canon’s brightest-ever WUXGA installation projector.

The company is also launching two new professional presenters – the PR100 and PR1000.

The dual-lamp LX-MU700 offers 7,500 lumens when both lamps are in use. If one lamp fails, the projector can continue to operate in single-lamp mode. It also supports seven interchangeable lenses – ranging from short fixed to ultra-long. Two colour wheels (both six-colour) are optimised for brightness or colour, making the projector suitable for installations displaying video content or computer graphics. Ten sets of focus, zoom and lens position settings can be stored.

The other models are:

  • LX-MU500 – WUXGA resolution with a 2,500:1 contrast ratio. This is a ‘semi-installation’ model suitable for both corporate and education environments.
  • LX-MW500 – WXGA resolution, 3,750:1 contrast ratio; also a ‘semi-installation’ model is portable and flexible for meeting room and classroom use
  • LV-WX310ST – short-throw WXGA model
  • LV-X310ST– short-throw XGA model

The new LX models support HDBaseT, allowing for the transmission of HD media, audio and control signals over a 100m distance via a single LAN cable.

The LV-WX310ST and LV-X310ST have MHL capabilities, allowing users to project images from compatible tablets or smartphones via the HDMI port.

Colin Boyle, European product marketing specialist, Canon Europe, said: “These latest models address a growing demand in the market for installations with high brightness and improved connectivity, as customers look to use projectors in more innovative ways, for example, for medical training purposes in hospitals or to view 3D content. These latest innovations also allow system integrators more flexibility in system configuration.”

The new models are supported by Canon’s 3 Year Lamp Warranty, which eliminates the cost of replacement lamps for a three year period from new. Additionally, the new LX models qualify for a 3 Year Enhanced Warranty Loan Service, offering customers next-day loans while their projector is being serviced.

The new projector models will be available from January 2016.
