Biamp updates Tesira digital media networking platform, adds Swedish distributor

Networked media systems company Biamp Systems says that it revisited how it implements Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) during the development of its latest digital media networking platform, Tesira, and integrated these findings across its VoIP products.

With the Audia 5.4 software/4.850 firmware update, Biamp has made significant changes that the company says bring the future of VoIP performance, management, and setup to itsr VoIP platform.

Key new features include Out of Band DTMF recognition and decoding; SIP auto-negotiation mode; TFTP set by DHCP; support for option 150 TFTP; and Watchdog support with 30-second reset.

“As a market leader in delivering VoIP solutions to the AV space, we are continuously innovating better ways for our customers to get the most out of VoIP technology,” said Justin O’Connor, audio products product manager (pictured). “With our focus on innovation we’re committed to delivering cutting-edge technologies.”

The company also said that it had worked with AMX and Crestron, to create modules for Tesira with ready-built commands and parameters for control elements to be used with Tesira systems. These design elements are said to conveniently give the programmer simplified access to the Tesira Text Protocol (TTP) library, thus unlocking a broad suite of control options.

“As a partner in the AMX Device Discovery Partner Program and the Integrated Partner Program at Crestron, we’re happy to present a set of design tools for each control system that allows users to download the Tesira modules and utilize the pre-programmed tools that best fit their specific needs,” said Matt Czyzewski, executive vice president of operations at Biamp Systems.
