Barco launches new HD range of projectors

Barco is showcasing its never-before-seen three-chip DLP HD projector range at InfoComm. In addition, the company is presenting its brand new PDS series of switches for rental and staging applications Deemed to be the world’s brightest projector, the new HDQ 2K40 from Barco is top-of-the-line, promising to deliver razor-sharp and ultra-bright images with 40,000 lumens of light output and 2k resolution (2048×1080).  Second in the range – intended for large venues and events that need a reliable ultra-bright device- is the HDF W26, which outputs 26,000 lumens and works to WUXGA resolution (1920×1200). Completing the series is the slightly smaller HDF W22 WUXGA (1920×1200) projector, which outputs 22,000 lumens and is designed for large venues and luminous environments that need extra brightness. Each model is 3D ready, incorporating Barco’s ImagePRO technology – which enables flexible scaling – Xenon illumination and a dual core warp engine. Wireless control options enable smartphone or tablet pc control, while a built-in colour LCD screen provides information on connected sources, status, power, temperatures and lamp run time, and can also be used in preview mode. Built for the rental and staging industry, the projector are designed modularly with removable lamp housing, power supply and electronics. Other features of the series include fully sealed optics, low video delay, universal lamp house for all HDF projectors and power saving modes. The new PDS image processing series includes three models: PDS-701, PDS-901 and PDS-902. All of which include one 3G/HD/SD SDI and four universal analog inputs.  The 701 model features two DVI inputs and the 901/902 models have 4 DVI inputs. The PDS-902 extends the functionality of the switcher by adding a preview output. The analog and DVI inputs support the EDID 1.3 specification.  With the PDS, users can capture and store up to three images that can be used as a LOGO source during a presentation. Built-in test patterns are also provided. The PDS is said to be perfect for live events, boardrooms, houses of worship, education and training facilities, and fixed installations. Barco is also launching a new pre-configured multi-format presentation switcher – the FSN-1004 – which can be controlled from a GUI running on a PC or Mac, simplifying system interconnections, setup and control. www.barco.com
