Retailers see sales rise more than 30% with “revolutionary” Hypervsn 3D holographic display

The screen-less, simple to install, lightweight 3D technology is helping some of the world’s biggest retailers drive up revenues and customer conversion rates

Retailers of some of the world’s leading high street brands have seen sales, revenues and sales conversions increase by more than 30 per cent, thanks to a new 3D display technology developed by British firm Kino-mo.

Kino-mo, a company which is financially backed by Sir Richard Branson, launched Hypervsn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this January.

The solution is designed to help brands stand out amongst the crowd, by creating a 3D holographic image, which appears to float in mid-air.

“Usually when it comes to holograms, it implies difficult installation, a lot of expensive equipment, certain environment conditions, etc,” a spokesperson for Kino-mo told AVTE. “In the case with Hypervsn, it is the other way round. It is simple to install and relocate, there are various accessories making it possible to mount devices to ceilings, walls and shelves, and you do not need any special people to schedule media campaigns for you.”

The launch of Hypervsn has seen instant success, with brands including Apple, McDonald’s, NEXT, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Carrefour and Pernod Ricard, amongst others now deploying the solution.

Images are created using one or more Hypervisn unit, which when inactive resemble mini helicopters, with four propellers. The propellers are in fact “sophisticated” LED’s, which once switched on, spin around at speed to create an almost invisible display. Images or videos can then be uploaded and displayed using its cloud based management platform.

Kino-mo has its own Design Lab that can create custom-made 3D content for our clients. It’s also introduced a new content creation tools that provides the ability for clients to transform their 2D assets into 3D visuals suitable for Hypervsn by themselves.

“Hypervsn is based on the sophisticated LED technology, which allows to produce incredibly realistic hologram-like 3D visuals with impressive fluidity and detail,” the spokesperson added.

“One of our customers has recently shared with us figures they managed to reach during Hypervsn campaign. The results were truly fascinating with turnover increasing by 35 per cent, sales up by 32 per cent, and customer acquisition improved by impressive 47 per cent.”

Hypervsn units weigh just 2.8kg each and can be combined to create larger images of up to four metres, by syncing together. There are also various accessories available to mount projection units to ceilings, walls and shelves.

Kino-mo claims each Hypervsn unit is designed to be eco-friendly, consuming less power than a electric light bulb.

A full interview with Kino-mo will feature in our next issue of AV Technology Europe magazine, out in November.
