KV2 Audio has given a seminar to the students at the Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in London, during the weeklong annual symposium run by the college. The International Drama School is one of the UK’s top specialist higher education institutions delivering theatre training.

The symposium run by the college is designed to further the knowledge and skillsets of its students and KV2 Audio were involved in this year’s “Offstage, Onstage and Beyond” event. A key aim for the college is to expose their students to a wide range of ideas and concepts relating to the various courses.

The seminar by KV2 Audio was for students from the BA (Hons) Performance Sound (Live Design and Engineering) course, members of the in-house technical team as well as a selection of people with an interest in high quality audio systems.

The 300-seat Rose Theatre hosted the seminar beginning with a presentation outlining the background of KV2 Audio founder and chief of engineering George Krampera as well as the company’s key philosophies. This was followed by an in-depth demonstration of a wide selection of EX, ESD and ESM products.

The seminar finished with students listening to one of KV2’s Point Source ES Systems and a discussion about the advantages of point source vs. line array systems, and finally the trend for ‘mini line arrays’.

A selection of theatre productions took place throughout the afternoon as well as a special guest cabaret and comedy performance by Julian Clarey and Ian Shaw, a live set from function band Festival Foxes and closing DJ slots.

The ES System remained as the main FOH PA with EX speakers covering the balconies and ESM 12’s handling monitoring duties.

KV2 are also in discussions with Rose Bruford College about further collaborations.
