ISE 2018: All the facts and figures from last month’s record breaking AV trade show7 March 2018
Last month’s annual Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) event in Amsterdam (5-8 Feb) once again smashed records, confirming its position as the world’s largest AV and integration trade show on the planet.
Figures released today show the number of registered attendees for the 2018 ISE instalment increased by 10.2 per cent to 80,923 – up from 73,413 in 2017. This figure includes exhibitor personnel (20,207) and attendees (59,098). New attendees accounted for 38 per cent (not including any exhibitor personnel ) of the total and there were 294 first-time exhibitors.
Press (586) from 44 counties and Vip speakers accounted for 1,619 of the total figure.
Exhibitor numbers topped 1,296, up from 120 when the show first began in 2004, and almost double the figure (715) in 2012.
10.8 per cent of visitors were classed by ISE as end users, of which 14.04 per cent were attending for the first time.
The largest percentage of visitors (25.95 per cent) were system integrators or installers, of which 21.93 per cent were attending for the first time.
Dealers or distributors accounting for 22.06 per cent, whilst manufacturers (products and solutions) accounted for 14.98 per cent.
The rise in exhibitors saw a significant rise in floor space covered at the RAI, increasing by seven per cent year on year to 53,313 square metres. This is up from just 2,800 when the show first began in 2004, and double since 2010.
Visitors to ISE 2018 were predominantly male with the proportion of women attending in line with the 2017 edition. Attendees were largely drawn from Management and Senior Management positions, with the vast majority aged under 50 years.
Looking at age, 62 per cent of attendees were between the age of 31 and 50, with 23 per cent over that age. One per cent were 20 or under, with the remaining 14 per cent between 21-31 years.
The most dominant job title for those present were at chairman level (18.3 per cent), followed by CEO, COO or president (11.8 per cent) and VP, EVP and/or director (6.8 per cent). Full breakdown below.
