Audio and projection as ISE seminar topics

Duran Audio’s Dr Evert Start (pictured) and Paradigm AV’s Greg Jeffreys are among those hosting seminar sessions at ISE, which begins tomorrow at the Amsterdam RAI. Further to the details of ISE presentations contained on last week’s Installation Europe newsletter digital directivity analysis, projected display performance and digital video will also be under the spotlight at ISE 2010.

‘Predictable Performance in Your Projected Display’ – to be hosted by Greg Jeffreys and presented by InfoComm International, of which Jeffreys is an active member – will take place tomorrow in room D204 between 1600 and 1700. Among other topics, seminar attendees will have the opportunity to find out more about analysing displays to ensure they meet client expectations or defined specifications, and discover the practicalities of measuring projectors and screens using meters. Tickets cost 75 euros (45 euros for members).

‘Designing for the Digital Future’, meanwhile, will see Extron internal training program manager Edwin Bausewein address the challenges and opportunities of digital technology in the AV industry with reference to DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, EDID, HDCP and Digital Rights Management (DRM). The impact of digital video on AV system design will also be addressed in the free-to-attend session, which will take place in room G107 on Wednesday between 1130 and 1230.

Duran Audio’s ‘Digital Directivity Analysis Seminar’ – taking place in room 407 on Wednesday from 1400 – is also free to attend. To be hosted by Duran Audio’s in-house technician, Dr Evert Start, the session will introduce Version 3 of Duran Audio’s DDA (Digital Directivity Analysis) modelling and beam shaping software. All existing DDA users are welcome to attend.
