Ateis UK announces teleconference distribution deal

Ateis UK has appointed a sole UK distributor to handle its ECS-Teleconference range in the form of York-based A/V distribution company Tukans.

ECS (echo cancellation system) was launched at the beginning of 2010 and is designed to produce clear audio for teleconference work, with no delays or doubletalk. The product is based on a digital signal processor using DYNAMIC Automatic Echo Cancellation, which uses a wideband acoustic echo cancelling algorithm developed by Ateis engineers.

While ECS is aimed at the conference market in general Ateis is also looking to move into the demanding boardroom and specialised commerce sectors.

Tukans has extensive experience in supplying video, audio and control systems to the teleconferencing and voice conferencing markets.

Yvonne Womersley, director of Tukans, commented: “The financial sector in particular has embraced conferencing technology and we are sure that the ECS with its flexible configuration options, VoIP capabilities and bespoke audio configuration software will offer this market, and others where international trading is a daily occurrence, a product that is technically superior, more economical and works in the most demanding of installations.

“We believe sound is the most important element in conferencing. Many meetings can take place without pictures but the audio is imperative. Users are now appreciating more natural and high quality sound, which is driving up the adoption rate for conferencing equipment. We feel that the ECS audio conferencing product from Ateis fits into our portfolio of technical, value-added products very well.”

Neil Voce, sales director of Ateis UK, added: “Conferencing is a very specialised area and we needed a partner with the experience and understanding of the market and its applications to ensure that the ECS-Teleconference range is successful. The ECS’s innovative approach means that some new training and support will be required to make the most of its feature set. Tukans has the knowledge and reputation to do this and we are confident that they will use their considerable resources to promote this innovative technology and support it with their engineering expertise.”
