ThinkFlood – the US-based maker of RedEye remote for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad – has appointed Armour Home to serve as its exclusive UK distributor. The remote line is being highlighted by Armour Home during its current run of 2010 Road Shows (full details here: http://www.armourhome.co.uk/xhtml/misc/roadshow.htm).

RedEye products allow the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to be used as convenient universal remote controls for any equipment controlled via infrared signals: TVs, set top boxes, DVD and Blu-ray players, home cinema receivers, game consoles and more.

Glenn McClelland, Armour’s managing director, commented: “Everyone at Armour Home is very excited about the prospect of distributing these new RedEye models because they’re so obviously brilliant, well-thought-out products, with absolutely huge market potential.”

Matt Eagar, president and founder of ThinkFlood, told IE Residential: “The UK is one of the top markets in the world for domotics, and we are thrilled to be working with Armour to bring a new level of integration to the country. With the right distribution partner, the overwhelming success of iOS devices in the UK, and some exciting new changes we are bringing to RedEye hardware and software over the coming months, we expect this can be a £1m market within the first year.”

The RedEye application, which powers both RedEye products, is a free download from the App Store. RedEye mini hardware (pictured) is priced at £49.95 (including VAT) and plugs into the headphone socket of the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad; no batteries are required. The original RedEye, with multiple user and multi-room ability, costs £199.90 (including VAT) and includes a charging dock, which connects to the user’s home Wi-Fi network.

RedEye adds to an Armour Home distribution portfolio that includes Alphason, Audica, Cinemax, Goldring, Milty, Myrad, Q Acoustics, QED, Q2, Soundstyle and Systemline.
