The company has also appointed Christine Baker (pictured here in the new UK office) to its UK sales support team.

Talk & Vision’s UK country manager, Scott Taylor, observed that location remains a critical consideration in spreading the word about videoconferencing technology.

“Once companies have videoconferencing installed, an office’s geographical location no longer plays an important role,” he said. “However, in order to convince companies to consider videoconferencing as an effective communication tool, a green alternative to travelling and a way to increase employee productivity, we need to be able to give physical demonstrations. Today’s business people have busy schedules and time comes at a premium, which is why we have chosen to move closer to our market potential.”

Meanwhile, Christine Baker – previously videoconferencing co-ordinator at City Group – will support the sales team and manage customer demonstrations in her new role with Talk & Vision.

Regarding the company’s intentions for the year ahead, Taylor told II: “Talk & Vision’s plan for the UK in 2009 is to establish ourselves as the leading provider of videoconferencing solutions and managed services as we currently are in the rest of Europe.”
