Amazon Echo now integrated7 February 2017
Showcasing new developments in its HDBase-T matrix products, together with new HDMI – DVB-T modulators, is Antiference.
The UHD Trucolour HDBase-T POE matrix range has evolved since 2014, the company notes, and now encompasses Neo branding, offering a broad choice for the installer and user with HDCP 2.2 support in 4×4, 6×6 and a modular 8×8 solution. Antiference has also integrated it with the Amazon Echo, enabling control of the matrix to switch between sources and power on/off source devices.
Each Trucolour Neo matrix features a CEC-based control system as standard, which allows the user to control the matrix, sources and devices such as AVRs (where CEC is supported) using the TV’s original remote control, turning the TV’s remote control into a universal handset.
According to Antiference, the remote management system allows the installer to provide a higher level of customer service by managing the system via a portal in which details of the system can be checked and firmware updated. This is accessed via a unique installer ID which can be obtained on request. A new Power Distribution Unit (PDU) has now been added to the range allowing devices to be remotely re-booted.
Other developments from Antiference are new additions to the HDMI modulator range. This alternative HD distribution over a coax cable network is becoming more popular in buildings where re-cabling is not feasible.
