All for one – ETC in Unison15 September 2008
Paradigm’s library of light products (including conventionals, moving lights and LEDs) with touchscreen control can be used to create dynamic effects, while the system’s networking technology enables devices from other manufacturers to operate via the same platform. Management tools to capitalise on daylight harvesting, occupancy sensing and time schedules for maximum electrical and financial savings are at the heart of the Paradigm system.
David Lincecum, ETC’s marketing manager, told II: "This is the first time we’ve been able to rethink the whole foyer and house lighting system. As architectural lighting becomes more complex, with moving lights and LEDs, Unison has evolved to handle it. Paradigm is the next generation of house lighting control, easily integrating Net3 and ACN with LonMARK-compatible devices, including occupancy and daylight sensors. But we’ve gone one step further, as Paradigm is able to interface with sound and even building management systems so that everything can be controlled from one touch-screen panel."
ETC also drew attention to the SmartLink lighting control system at PLASA 08. The latest additions include the new SmartLink TimeClock, which is said to bring low-cost, easy to use time of day control to ETC Unison, Sensor and SmartPack dimming.
Other products in the spotlight at Earls Court included a new version of SmartSoft that covers SmartFade 1248, 2496 and 1296, and is compatible with both PC and Mac; the 70W version of the Source Four HID family; and the Eos lighting control system.
