A world of IP solutions under one roof

The IP Village has provided an opportunity for VITEC, Netgear, Siedle, STS-Tecom and HINACSE to showcase their many and varied IP-based solutions.

Located in the Europa Foyer, the IP Village was coordinated by Jan Nintemann, who describes this year’s ISE presence as “a pilot project. More and more, we are seeing people in pro-AV move towards IP operation, so we wanted to give a number of companies the opportunity to explain the benefits of their IP-based systems.”

Based in Mainz, Germany, VITEC is a leading European distributor of AV media technology products, including solutions for audio and video conferencing, presentation, telecommunications and security.

“There is a benefit to having a common theme [between a group of exhibitors], as well as the advantages related to shared facilities,” said product manager Bernd Stadel, pictured here with Nintemann (right) and the world’s first video-conferencing robot, Vgo.

Also housed within the IP Village was Netgear, which is an established provider of networking solutions for small businesses and homes. The company’s four products fall into four main tiers: storage, WLAN, security and switching.

“It’s my first time at ISE and I have been very impressed by the show,” says Jean-Francois Lesseliers, senior account manager SMB, Benelux for Netgear. “I hope that we can return to the show in the future and exhibit more of our digital home solutions.”

Siedel, meanwhile, turned the spotlight on its new IP-based door communication system, Siedel Access. The solution can be integrated into any IP network in conjunction with Siedel system technologies such as intercom units, video, switching and control devices.

“There has been a very international feel [to the show],” observed Siedle’ s René Sander. “It’s given me the opportunity to speak to people from China, France, Spain, Portugal and many other countries.”

Like Siedel, STS-Tecom is based in Germany, but specialises in the production of IT systems, set-top boxes and TV boxes for IP. The company also undertakes project management during the programming of software for video streaming portals.

“It’s important to have the opportunity to let more people know about IPTV, which is an area that is seeing a lot of development at present,” said STS-Tecom CEO Denny Johanes Tjitra.

Last but by no means least, HINACSE is a joint venture between Hitachi Data Systems, nacamar GmbH and CSE Unternehmensberatung-EDV GmbH. Collectively, they offer full service solutions for live streaming, video-on-demand, video management, corporate TV, e-learning, and three-screen playout for TV, PC and mobile.

“The IP Village provides a useful meeting point for a lot of different solutions based around IP,” said Christian Bischof, managing partner at CSE, adding that HINACSE has recently delivered solutions for ZDF Mediathek, Sport1, Media Markt and many others.
