5G WiFi access point from Pakedge5 January 2016
The WK-2 gigabit access point (AP) is being shown for the first time at ISE 2016. It supports 802.11ac (5G WiFi) with a 3×3 multiple I/O array.
Pakedge claims this latest gigabit AP offers a higher channel capacity than N-based APs and supports twice as many users. With channels up to 80Mhz wide the WK-2 is capable of processing up to four times as many signals per channel.
With a metal base, polycarbonate housing and internal antennae design, it is available in black and white.
The WK-2 includes brackets that allow it to be quickly and easily mounted to walls and standard or drop-tile ceilings. Because it is PoE+ powered the WK-2 does not need to be plugged into a power outlet, which Pakedge says allows integrators more freedom in deciding where the AP could be placed, and reducing the amount of wiring necessary.
All Pakedge access points are Connect+ certified and capable of leveraging information from other Pakedge devices on the network to optimise functionality.
When unified with the BakPak Cloud Management System, the functionality of the Pakedge Connect+ Platform is extended with cloud-enabled services, such as the monitoring and management of all connected devices.
Integrators are able to manage and maintain network devices remotely without having to visit the site themselves, so saving significant time and costs said Pakedge, thus enabling them to provide a more responsive, efficient service to clients.
